UBC Okanagan and the United Way
UBC exists for the communities it serves and the partnership with the United Way provides an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to engage with the wider community to increase societal good and enrich their own lives.
United Way British Columbia (UWBC) is a non-profit organization working to strengthen vital connections that support people in need in our local communities. UWBC works to drive positive impact and create healthy, caring, inclusive communities. Dollars raised locally, stay local.
The University of British Columbia has a long history with United Way and is the only Board of Governor-approved employee campaign.
2023 United Way Campaign
The UBC United Way Campaign is an annual workplace campaign that runs in the fall and creates opportunities for UBC staff, faculty and community members to connect, network and raise funds for a great cause. The 2023 UBC United Way Campaign runs from October to December. The goal this year is to raise over $45,000.
The University of British Columbia (Vancouver and Okanagan) has been recognized as a top contributor to United Way for many years. Since 2009, UBC has consistently raised over $550,000 annually in support of the local community. The 2021 UBC United Way Campaign raised over $590,000 and engaged over 1000 community members.
The UBC Okanagan campus started its United Way campaign in 2005 and has since achieved outstanding results in participation and donations that have greatly impacted their community.
